The lunch meeting starts at 12:00 p.m. and ends at 1:30 p.m. (Doors open at 11:30 a.m.)  If you wish to attend, please contact us by noon the preceding Sunday at: ws_rotary@yahoo.com .  If you wish to be considered for membership, lunch is complimentary, otherwise the cost is $30.

November 4: Students of the Month

Our Student of the Month program honors outstanding seniors from West Seattle high school programs who excel in numerous areas such as grades, persistence, leadership, and work ethics. On Tuesday, November 4, each November Student of the Month will give a short talk about their accomplishments and aspirations and receive information about scholarships and a gift from the club.

 

 

 

  November 11: Washington Supreme Court Justice Mary Yu

On Tuesday, Nov. 11, our guest presenter is the Honorable Mary Yu, Washington State Supreme Court Justice. Justice Yu was appointed to the Supreme Court on May 16, 2014, and subsequently elected in 2014, 2016, and 2022. She is the first Asian, the first Latina, and the first member of the LGBTQ community to serve on the Washington State Supreme Court. In September, Justice Yu announced she will retire from the bench at the end of this year. Learn more about the Court and Justice Yu's future plans at our club meeting on Nov. 11th! NOTE: Visitors are welcome at the luncheon meeting with advance registration. November 18: Dr. William R. Ledoux, Dr. Glenn Klute 

Dr. William R. Ledoux and Dr. Glenn Klute of the VA Center for Limb Loss and MoBility (CLIMB) will speak to the Rotary Club of West Seattle at our club meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 18. CLIMB is a research group focused on preserving and enhancing mobility in Veterans and others with foot and leg impairments or amputations.

 

 

November 25: Westside Neighbors Shelter (service project)

What's new and different at the Westside Neighbors Shelter this year, and how can you help? Come to our Nov. 25 meeting to learn more about this volunteer-operated cold-weather shelter in West Seattle. The shelter is open to any adult in need of shelter, regardless of gender or veteran status. They served a staggering number of guests last winter.
